A tall, narrow plot handled with a single recessed frame that makes five levels read as one calm composition from the street.
The challenge
Only 25 ft of frontage with neighbours on both sides. Any conventional treatment would have produced a stack of unrelated balconies.
Our approach
A single dark stone frame was recessed into the white render, gathering all four balconies into one vertical composition. Glazing was pushed to the frame line to maximise daylight from the only open face.
The outcome
The house reads as significantly larger than its footprint, and every habitable room has direct daylight despite the constrained site.
